After purchasing a Lenovo 27Q-10 monitor for my wife, the visual setup was perfect, but we ran into an issue: the sound. Since her desk is 1200mm wide, space was limited. After searching for compact speakers that wouldn’t clutter the desk, I ultimately decided on the Creative Pebble V3.
Why I Chose the Pebble V3
My wife specifically wanted white speakers to match her white desk, which led us to the V3 model. Interestingly, I couldn’t find the Pebble V2 in white anywhere. While I didn’t necessarily need the Bluetooth functionality that comes with the V3, the color and updated features made it the right choice.

Unboxing and Design
When the package arrived, the box was larger than I expected. I had imagined the speakers would be tiny, but opening it revealed a pair of speakers facing each other with some decent heft.
- Inside the box: The Pebble V3 speakers, user manuals, and a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Once placed next to the 27-inch monitor, you can see they aren’t “tiny,” but they have a perfect footprint for a mid-sized desk. The rounded, pebble-like design adds a soft, modern touch to a workspace that can often feel too “boxy.”
Performance and Connectivity
One of the main differences between the V2 and V3 is the connection. While the V2 relies on an Aux cable, the Pebble V3 can handle both power and audio through a single USB-C cable.
Personally, I prefer analog connections for audio, so I used a separate Aux cable. I believe this offers a slightly better sound quality, even if the difference is subtle.
Sound Quality:
- Volume: These speakers get surprisingly loud for their size.
- Clarity: While the sound might distort at maximum volume due to the small driver size, they sound great at around 50% volume.
- Usage: For general PC use, they are more than sufficient. In a small room, they could even serve well for casual music listening.
My Final Thoughts
At the $50-$60 price range (60,000 KRW), if I had more desk space, I might have considered Edifier speakers. However, given the space constraints, the Pebble V3 is an excellent choice.
Looking back at the poor sound quality of old-school 2-channel PC speakers—which used to make me always insist on 2.1 channel systems with a woofer—it’s impressive how much Creative has packed into these units.
If you are looking for compact PC speakers, especially if you use a laptop and want the convenience of a single USB-C cable setup, the Creative Pebble V3 is arguably the best option on the market.
